Dr. Michael P. Neal began practicing dentistry in Sidney in 1987, then founded Summit Dental Group in 2002 because he knew that there was more to dentistry than simply cleaning teeth and fixing cavities. He understood that good oral health and innovative dentistry could improve confidence, health and function, and was a main factor in the quality of life for his patients. With that knowledge, a belief in constant education and continuous improvement, Dr. Neal focused his practice on finding the best way for all of his patients to live healthier, happier lives.

Insurance Policy Dental
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. We accept all dental insurances. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service.
As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services and allow them 45 days to render payment. After 60 days, you are responsible for the entire balance, paid-in-full. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.

We maintain strict sterilization and cross contamination processes, following all standards suggested by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

You deserve not only the highest quality dental care, but also the peace of mind that comes with knowing that our office takes infection control very seriously. To ensure that you receive a relaxing, safe and comfortable dental experience, we maintain all of the safety procedures listed below:
  • Ensure all surfaces have been cleaned and decontaminated before you even enter the room. These surfaces include the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and counter tops.
  • Ensure all non-disposable items like dental tools are cleaned and sterilized between patients.
  • Ensure that under no circumstances are any disposable dental tools are ever reused on another patient. Ever.
  • Ensure that each and every one of our staff members adhere to infection control precautions. These include precautions such as staff wearing personal protective equipment or “PPE's” (gloves, masks, gowns and eye wear). In addition, all disposable wear, such as gloves, are thrown away after each interaction with each patient.
  • Ensure that all team members wash their hands according to the required guidelines and don a new pair of gloves before seeing each new patient.

HIPPA Compliance

We believe that your health is not only important, but also an extremely private matter. Because of this, we agree and adhere with all of HIPPA's policies, guidelines and regulations set forth for dental offices.
HIPPA Privacy Rule
The HIPPA Privacy Rule mandates that patients receive certain rights over their health information, including dental and billing records. For example, patients have the right to:
  • Ask for a change in their records
  • Ask for a healthcare provider not to disclose their information
  • Ask a healthcare provider to communicate with them confidentially, at an alternative location or through alternative means. The healthcare provider must accommodate these requests if deemed reasonable.
HIPPA Security Rule
The HIPAA Security Rule requires all dental practices that are HIPPA compliant to conduct a written risk assessment and develop safeguards to protect electronic patient information. The purpose of the Security Rule safeguards is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of electronic patient information:
Confidential means that people can't access the information if they are not authorized to do so. Integrity means that the data is not corrupted, or changed without authorization. Availability means that authorized individuals may access information whenever it is needed.
The HIPAA Security Rule also requires ongoing maintenance of safeguards, periodic risk assessments, workforce training and documentation.
Breach Notification
While we take extreme precautions to ensure that a breach of confidential information doesn't happen at our office, HIPPA's Breach Notification Policy requires all HIPPA compliant dental practices to provide notification of breaches of unsecured patient information to affected individuals, the federal government and, in some rare instances, the media.

…we have taken steps to comply with all of HIPPA's official policies. Each of our team members has read and fully understands all of the HIPPA requirements, has been trained accordingly and keeps up to date on all of HIPPA's new and changing regulations. As a HIPPPA compliant team, we have delegated tasks accordingly throughout the office, perform risk assessments as necessary, have policies in place that protect each and every patients' privacy and rights and maintain compliance in an ongoing manner.
